Interlochen Arts Academy alumnus Aaron Wilson is a Professor of Art at the University of Northern Iowa. He has taught Printmaking and Foundations there since 1997. Prior to residing in Iowa, Aaron completed his BFA at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and earned an MFA from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Aaron has been the recipient of institutional and state grants, shown his work widely in national juried exhibitions, and has had solo and two-person exhibitions regionally, nationally and in Canada.

Aaron’s work has centered on the use of non-conventional printmaking formats for over a decade. He regularly employs digital imaging along with combinations of media that lend flexibility to traditional printmaking processes. These techniques allow him to use printmaking in sculptural and hybridized forms, such as installation. Therefore the work bridges gaps between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces and aesthetic sensibilities. Subject matter in Aaron’s work ranges from politics and suburban lifestyle to visual sensation.

Artist's talk: Thursday, March 4, 7pm
Opening reception for the exhibition: Saturday, March 6, 6:30pm

Both events are free and open to the public.
